Salary / benefits [based on experience]: $250-$350 per month with stock options [Note: This is a startup company and funds are limited. We have 3 people who have entrepreneurial spirit, working in this salary range and appropriate stock options]
Background:
VertiBlu Inc., a start-up Company, is seeking a Web Programmer/Developer with IT expertise. If the person is experienced and talented, we will consider for the VP Technology position. We are seeking a creative individual to support its web and Mobile software development efforts, to establish a platform for the Company`s business and product strategy, while implementing innovative ideas for the web product portfolio of the company. The individual will have an opportunity to contribute to all aspects of the Company`s start-up phase including but not limited to business development, sales/marketing. If you are talented, willing to take risks, and meet expectations, there is a potential for promotion as the Vice President of Technology of the company. The start-up is in early phase and is getting ready to launch its first nascent product. This individual will be key leader in bringing forth the advanced software product [s] for launch. The market areas for the company is in education, healthcare, and lifestyle. We are incorporated in NY and currently in the process of incorporating in UK and India.
Requirements:
Preferably Masters/PhD Degree in Science, Electrical Engineering or appropriate Engineering field with applicable/relevant Programming experience or enrolled in a PhD Program for the same. Candidates with degree[s] in other disciplines/fields with appropriate/relevant experience[s] are encouraged to apply.
Must be proficient in web analytics and IT management protocols.
Must be proficient in programming, c++, java, cold fusion, server hosting [Linux, Windows], Web 2.0 development, Mobile platforms design / development, iPhone / mobile software programming and implementation, IT systems administration, database management and integration, media platforms and software development for online media solutions.
In addition to web development and software programming aspects / projects, the individual is also expected to contribute to all aspects of the start-up phase and as required.
Work on advanced software programming for semantic web development and design, including integrating, innovating new and existing software / web programs based on Company`s business needs.
Work and / or interface with sales, marketing and product development, business development teams to maximize Return On Investment [ROI].
Must be familiar with programming the next generation web lifestyle, including but not limited to web 2.0 programs and applications on web, mobile communication systems, gaming, animation protocols, and cloud computing.
Must have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Work with company leadership, perform, achieve and innovate in a start-up environment and against odds stacked up against the company, to come out on top and successful.
Entrepreneurial spirit is an added benefit.
Military experience is preferred but not required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Utilize state-of- the- art resources in the industry to create an innovative web design for the company
IT integration to host and drive customer traffic to the Company`s main site and product platforms
Interface with the sales/marketing, product development, web development teams in New York, U.S.A, and India. Possible international exposure in projects at the work place as company will be incorporated in UK as well.
Assist in formulation of initial US product strategy and India product strategy in the education sector and semantic web
Attend meetings on an as needed basis with the Core Team Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings in White Plains, New York. [flexible]
Must be willing to meet on weekends on as/if needed. Once these requirements are met, telecommuting is okay
Responsibilities also include developing online Web applications, Custom Web Site Design, Web Development, PHP MySQL Development, PHP Programming Development, ASP.Net Web Development, AJAX Programming, JAVA Web Development, CAD, Flash Web Page Design, Flash Actions Script Programming, Web analytics, Yahoo / e-commerce Store Design, ASP.Net application development, multimedia solutions, web hosting, e-commerce web site, shopping cart development in PHP, ASP, ASP.Net, AJAX,JAVA, Flash Actions Script Programming, Customized Java Application, Joomla website design development, Drupal Web Design Development, open source web development, mobile platform applications development [iPhone, smart phones], mobile web development, semantic web development etc.
Other tasks as requested by the start-up team and flexibility to pitch in in various areas of the start-up phase - marketing / sales to product development, in addition to web programming.
